Blog #7 (Analyzing Art)

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e2/Van_Gogh_-_Patch_of_grass.jpg

Mr. Anderson has asked us to "analyze" art, which means that we are supposed to describe our reaction, describe how well the artist drew or painted said art, and what the artists purpose of the painting or drawing.

I picked to analyze Van Gogh's "Patch of Grass". My first reaction to this painting, was that i really didn't even notice it was a painting, i thought that someone just took a picture of it, until I found a larger painting of it, then realized it was indeed, a painting. Because I was mistaken and thought it was actually a patch of grass that someone just took a picture of, I think that Van Gogh did a superior job at creating this piece, and I believe that being mistaken it for a real patch of grass was the purpose behind this paining my Mr. Gogh.

Blog #6 (Ethical Dilemma‏)

I got a very mysterious e-mail today asking me, "You have an opportunity for an internship at a respected business in the community. Part of your qualifications comes from a senior project that you worked on withseveral other students. Through the interview process, you discover that you are given credit for a key section of the project that really impressed the company. In fact, another member of your senior team, with little input from you, did that section. How do you proceed?".

I personally would tell the interwiewer the truth, but if i had the opportunity to be able to time travel, I would go back in time, and see how much of a difference it would make if I didn't correct the person who was interviewing me. For me, this wasn't too much of a dilemma, becuase I'd like to call myself a pretty trustworthy, and thruthful person.

Blog #5 (Existence Outside of Perception?)

Ok, so, I had another one of those "WOAAAAHH!!", moments again! WOOT WOOT! This time the "Woah" moment has to do with the riddle "If a tree falls in a forest, yadda yadda...". I really didn't get that riddle at all until now, maybe because its cliche? But i've actually thought of this before, that if we don't preseve something, then it does really exist? Like at the moment that i'm writing this blog, i'm sitting in the computer room in the library in my school. But I really don't know if anything outside of the computer room really exists. What if it doesn't? Wouldn't that be trippy!? I think it would... Class bell just went, which means my time is up for today... Will hopefully update soon
